A very warm day.  The start wasn't to good.  There was a nearby forest fire, so the air was full of smoke the whole race.

I feel I ran well.  When it was all said and done, I wished I would have pushed the last couple of miles a little more.

It was a PR for me by about a minute and I did end up beating some people that usually beat me.  I also took 3rd in my age group, so you can't argue with that.

Man am I sore today, which means I probably worked hard.  The race went well and I felt well, just a little hard to hold the pace the last few miles.  Here's the break down.

Mile 1 flat @ 5:53

Mile 2 flat @ 5:57

Mile 3 @ 5:21

Mile 4 @ 5:17 (fastest mile of the year for me)

Mile 5 @ 5:35

Mile 6 @ 5:25

Mile 7 @ 5:50

Mile 8 @ 5:59

Mile 9 starting to feel tired from maybe having pushed the earlier miles too much (6:17)

Mile 10 @ 6:23 ( still tired)

Mile 11 @ 6:08 (feeling better)

Mile 12 @ 6:27 ( some up hill, mind telling me to slow down, struggling to stay the pace)

Mile 13 @ 5:56 ( I realize if I want to PR, I need to run the last 1.1 at a sub 6 minute mile, so I do)

Last .1 @ 5:12 in 24 seconds.

A good race.  I've got two months before my marathon in Logan and lots of work to do.  I'll be ramping up the distance some, speed and tempo.  I'm happy with the results, but not satisfied.

The race was actually on Saturday not Friday, but I'm too tired to change it.

Thank you. I've got a lactic acid build up like you wouldn't believe.

I'll try and run it out this afternoon.
